Keep the conversation attached to the arrangement
Use CoParentOS to send and reply to messages within the family you have selected. That conversation stays separate from the messages in your other co-parenting arrangements, even when you use one login for all of them.
For everyday coordination, a message works best when it has one clear purpose. “Can you confirm pickup at 3:15 pm on Friday?” is easier to answer than a message that mixes pickup, school costs and an old disagreement. The app gives you a place to keep the conversation; the wording and decisions remain yours.
A record you can return to
Message history helps you check what was actually written instead of relying on memory. The existing messaging workflow supports replies, editing, retraction and opened-message recording. Edits and retractions have history protections; they should not be described as silently erasing a conversation.
A recorded opening is not the same as agreement, understanding or a promise to respond. Use an explicit response when you need confirmation. Likewise, a message proposing a schedule change should not be treated as an approved change simply because it was sent.
Try a practical message structure
- Context: identify the child-related topic and date.
- Request: ask one concrete question or state the information being shared.
- Timing: give a reasonable response time if a decision is needed.
- Follow-up: record the agreed outcome in the relevant schedule or expense workflow.
Example: “The school excursion form is due Thursday. I have uploaded the notice. Can you review the proposed cost split by Wednesday evening?” Keep details about another family arrangement out of that conversation unless they are necessary and appropriate to share.
Start with the tools your situation needs
Messaging sits alongside schedules, expenses and documents, so you can organise the related records without treating a chat thread as the only filing system. Read our co-parenting communication rules for more practical examples.
Common questions
Will CoParentOS make communication conflict-free?
No app can guarantee how another person behaves. A dedicated workspace can support clearer organisation, but it is not a substitute for the support or communication boundaries your circumstances require.
Do you record phone calls?
This page describes written messaging. It does not promise recorded calls or video calls.
Is every message guaranteed to be accepted in court?
No. Keep accurate records, but do not assume a particular export or message has a guaranteed legal status. Requirements depend on the relevant process and jurisdiction.
