Co-parenting document organiser for two homes

Find the right school notice, receipt or parenting document without searching several inboxes or sending the same file again.

Give important records a consistent home

The document workspace keeps files within the family arrangement you select. Child-specific document controls help connect relevant records to a child, while document history and downloads provide a way to revisit what has been stored.

Use a title that will still make sense in six months. “School excursion notice — October” is more useful than “scan-final-2.” For records that change, include enough date and context to distinguish a current version from an older copy.

Start with a simple filing routine

  1. Choose the correct arrangement before uploading.
  2. Check that the file contains only information appropriate for that arrangement.
  3. Use a clear document title and associate the relevant child where appropriate.
  4. Keep original files when their detail or provenance matters.
  5. Review what you download or share before sending it outside the app.

Useful records may include school notices, activity information, expense receipts and existing parenting documents. You do not need to upload every message or every document you possess. A smaller set of well-labelled, relevant records is often easier to use than an unstructured archive.

Keep separate families separate

Multiple arrangements do not turn your account into a shared filing cabinet for every co-parent. Files are accessed in the selected arrangement. A document for the children you share with Alex should not be uploaded into the arrangement you share with Sam.

Be especially careful with documents that mention several people. Choosing the right workspace does not remove unrelated personal information from a file. Review its contents before you upload it.

Documents and private notes serve different purposes

A shared family record and a private note are not interchangeable. Private notes remain author-only. Before recording sensitive reflections, check whether you are creating a private note or a document intended for the family workspace.

Common questions

Does uploading a file prove that it is authentic?

No. The app helps organise files and their records; it cannot turn an inaccurate document into a verified fact. Retain originals and describe the source accurately when needed.

Can I download documents?

The existing document controls support authorised downloads. Once you download a copy, protect it separately: access controls inside CoParentOS do not govern files stored on your device or emailed elsewhere.

Is this an automatic evidence assessment service?

No. Organising records is different from deciding their relevance or legal weight. See what to document after separation for an existing practical starting point, and seek appropriate advice where necessary.
